Meet the team redefining vision therapy

James Blaha

James grew up suffering from amblyopia and strabismus. As an adult he decided to try and improve his own vision with technology. While building the first prototype of Vivid Vision he gained stereo vision and went on to start the company.

Manish Gupta

Manish left IBM to co-found the company in 2014. Experienced in both engineering and design, Manish leads development at Vivid Vision.

Ben Backus, PhD

Before VV, Ben ran the Backus Lab at SUNY School of Optometry in NY. His work at the lab focused on understanding how binocular vision works. He uses his expertise to make sure our system is using the cutting edge of vision science.

Kelin Kushin

The daughter of an optometrist, Kelin's been active in the profession since birth! Prior to VV, Kelin was Executive Director of the Optometric Extension Program Foundation. At Vivid Vision she manages industry relationships, partnerships, and marketing.

Sunao Miyoshi

Sunao handles sales, distribution, and marketing in Asia.

Ken Nichols

Ken Nichols is director of customer support for Vivid Vision.

Alan Purdy

Alan leads major software architecture design and deployment at Vivid Vision.

Julia Yu

Julia is a qualified accountant with CPA Australia, with experience from JP Morgan, Australia & New Zealand Bank and Ameriprise Financial.

Her role is to manage the company’s finance and operations processes.

Tuan Tran, OD

Dr. Tran is an Optometrist from Detroit, MI. He makes sure optometrists and vision therapists can get the most out of Vivid Vision.

Ai Tanaka

Ai has 5 years of experience as an orthoptist In Japan including basic eye exams, helping prescription contact lenses or glasses, and training for children with amblyopia following Bachelor of medical technology.
